Just In Time for the Holidays! New Illustrated Edition and Giveaway!

Why issue a sixty page short story in paperback? Sometimes you just want to hold a book in your hands and flip through the pages; perhaps take it down from the shelves once in a while and read it again.

That's how I feel about the new illustrated edition of The Mission. I started with the idea of adding holiday-themed illustrations to the ebook, but once I saw the finished product, I decided I really wanted a hard copy as a personal keepsake. Plus, the cover is red, which happens to be my favorite color.

Every year at Christmastime, I take out all my holiday books, including a 5 x 6 inch The Night Before Christmas board book that I first read to my daughter when she was a toddler, as well as another board book where my daughter, at age one, is alternately depicted dressed as an elf, a snowman, and a Christmas teddy bear (to list a few). Around Christmas Eve, I take a few moments to read the books and enjoy a bit of holiday nostalgia while sitting by the tree. Henceforth, I will pull out my edition of The Mission and catch up with Darcy, Elizabeth, and young Ben during the holidays too.

Tell me what’s one of your favorite holiday books?

It’s giveaway time!

  1. I don't have one favourite holiday book. Actually I like to discover new books every year. Some days ago, for example, I read a very sweet short-story I really liked. It's called "Mistletoe magic" and it's perfect for Christmas! Thank you for the giveaway! I don't live in the USA.

  2. My favorite Christmas book is The Polar Express and I love reading it this time of the year. But my favorite Christmas tradition is watching White Christmas and Miracle on 34th Street in black and white. These two always make me happy and fill me with the Christmas spirit. But I love reading all about Ben and his first Christmas with Darcy; I really love that boy!!

    Thanks Pam!! Merry Christmas

  5. Sorry, I don't have a favourite holiday story. I mainly read Austenesque novels and if the story takes place during Christmas, that's a bonus. But so far I don't remember a specific Christmas-themed story.

Please enter me for the second giveaway as I'm living in US. Thank you.

    2. Sorry, I meant I don't live in the US. I'm international and would love to read the e-book. A missing word does change the whole meaning of the sentence, doesn't it?

  8. So happy to see The Mission in paperback, P O! And it's illustrated?! Wonderful!
My favorite Christmas story is 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. I remember reading that all the time as a child. And it's so easy to memorize and add inflection to, too! Last year the kids memorized Luke 2:8-14. This will be a new tradition of our--saying it as a family on Christmas morning.
I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!! :)
