Jane Austen Giveaway Hop!
Welcome! I
am featuring my newest release, Matter of Trust: The Shades of Pemberley.
A young
bride he recently married to prevent a scandal. A mysterious, wayward aunt he
never really knew. A woefully misguided sister he removed from harm’s way.
Undermining Darcy’s relationships with the three women in his life is a most
disturbing bombshell about his nemesis, George Wickham.
Matter of
Trust: The Shades of Pemberley
is an engaging Pride and Prejudice ‘what-if’ story with a hint of
intrigue and a touch of romance ...
Leave a comment between October 19th and October 24th for a chance to win the e-book edition of Matter of Trust: The Shades of Pemberley. (Remember to include your email address.)
One winner will be chosen. It could be you!
Just for
fun, please take a moment to answer the following questions ...
What
do you suppose would be the impact upon George Wickham upon learning that he is
not the son of a steward? What if he is of Darcy lineage? Would he become a
better man?

I'm a big fan of Jane Austen. I had already read all her books. My favorite of course Pride and Prejudice, but I love Emma and Northanger Abey also.
ReplyDeleteWell, about George Wickham, I don't think he will become a better man even if he's of Darcy lineage. He is a man who never satisfied with what he got.
Thanks for this giveaway.
Oh, I almost forgot. My email address : amel.armeliana@gmail.com
DeleteNo, I just think he would become worse if he learned that
ReplyDeletebooksforlife01 (at) (gmail) dot com
Definitely worse! He already has an inflated sense of what he's entitled to and having the grounds to deserve more would make him awful!
ReplyDeleteFrawli1978(at)gmail(dot) com
He would become all the more demanding and entitled! Love her work; can't wait to read this. erynnDOTkirschATgmailDOTcom
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, no, I don't think he would be a better man. Wickham already has an undeserved sense of entitlement and I can't imagine anything improving the quality of his character.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I'm willing to be proved wrong :)

I doubt he'd become better.
ReplyDeleteThank you for having the giveaway!

Sounds like a good read. His lineage might have changed, but his character seems pretty set to do what he did with Georgiana and Lydia so I don't see it making him better- more like worse.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway opportunity.

I don't think he'd become a better man. I think he'd become worse because now he'd be rich! He'd use women even more since he wouldn't have to marry for money.

I'd imagine that Wickham would feel even more entitled should he discover he was of Darcy lineage...

Ooh! What a thing to think about! I don't think he would change a big, if anything he would become worse by taking advantage of his rank and wealth. domenica conde 4 @ g mail . com
ReplyDeleteI don't think it would make him a better man because being a son of a steward is not what made his character. Thanks for the giveaway!

Oof, I don't think he would become a better man. I think he would turn downright nasty in his efforts to obtain what he would consider his 'birthright'. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteliedermadchen(at)hotmail(dot)com
He will definitely become even worse, now having much more possibilities to do as he pleases.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the giveaway!

Wickham is a scoundrel. If he learns that he is a Darcy, he could become worse and use this knowledge to blackmail Mr Darcy to give him what he wants.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway, Ms Dixon.

Wickham would just feel more entitled!

I don't think Wickham would become a better man. I think his demands would increase in an attempt to cause scandal and blacken Darcy's name and heritage. I always HOPE that there is a thread of good in him, but I don't believe there is.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!

A rotten egg is always rotten, don't think Wickham would/could redeem himself..probably just use the leverage to cause more trouble...
ReplyDeleteinteresting question...

I think Wickham would be even worse! Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteWow, sounds great! My email is: joykatie20022002 (at) yahoo (dot) com
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm with the vast majority here. I don't think Wickham would become a better person. I think with all the opportunities he's had to start over and show himself to be a better guy he hasn't used any of them. I'd love to read your newest release.
ReplyDeleteschafsue at gmail dot com
I think if he found out he was of Darcy lineage he would be even worse than he already is.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!

I haven't yet read anything by Jane Austen, so I'm afraid I can't answer the question!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!

I'm kind of on the fence with this one. Part of me thinks he'd be worse than he already is, given his past history. However, perhaps he'd be more motivated to be a little more ambitious and a better person. He may actually pride himself in the fact that he is indeed of Darcy lineage, and try to live up to the expectations of the name.
ReplyDeleteThanks for a great giveaway! :)

I love Pride and Prejudice. I think George Wickham would not become a better person. He would become more egotistical and try to take over Pemberly.

NOT LIKELY !! he fought for that at every turn & it didn't make him any better for all the coveting! He'd just be more proud & arrogant !

WOW! It's been so much fun reading everyone's comments. The consensus is that Wickham will never change for the better, regardless of his circumstances.
